York United Academy Tryouts
YORK UNITED FC ACADEMY TRYOUTS
As part of our continued investment in Canadian talent, York United FC is proud to announce tryouts for its Academy program ahead of the 2026 season. These sessions will help identify players for our U21 and U19 teams, a key step in the club’s long-term development structure connected directly to the Canadian Premier League First Team.
Tryouts will take place through September and October 2025 at Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre (7601 Martin Grove Rd, Vaughan, ON L4L 9E4) and are open to male athletes born between 2006 and 2010. Spaces are limited, and players must register in advance.
Player Eligibility
- Male athletes born from 2006 to 2010.
- Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- All players are responsible for their own transportation and personal expenses.
• No refunds will be issued, except in the event of cancellation by the club.
Cost
$47.00 CAD per player (covers all three days of tryouts for each age group).
What’s included in my tryout fee?
The $47.00 CAD fee covers two to three high-performance training sessions, depending on the selected tryout week. Sessions will be led by professional coaching staff from York United FC and designed to assess players in a competitive, structured environment.
Hydration will be provided for all participants throughout the sessions. Our media team will be on site throughout the tryouts to capture professional photography of the event.
Each player will also receive one ticket to a York United FC home match.
All players are responsible for their own transportation and personal expenses.
Please note: registration fees are non-refundable unless the tryout is officially cancelled.
Tryout Schedule:
- Goalkeepers 2006 - 2010: September 15 & 16 | 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
- 2009 & 2010: September 22, 23 & 24 | 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- 2009 & 2010: October 6, 7 & 9 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- 2009 & 2010: October 14 & 16 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- 2006, 2007 & 2008: October 20, 21 & 22 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- 2006, 2007 & 2008: October 27, 28 & 29 | 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Note: Selected players will attend final sessions in early November.
What to wear?
Players are required to arrive wearing a white shirt, white shorts, and white socks. Each player must bring their own cleats; metal studs are strictly prohibited.
Registration Details
Once payment is completed, players will receive a confirmation email with instructions to submit their full application, including playing and contact information.
Important Notice for All Players
Please note that in order to participate in the tryouts, all players who are currently registered with another club must provide one of the following:
- A release letter from their current club, or
- A signed letter of authorization (permission letter) from their club allowing them to attend the tryouts.
This document must be presented at check-in on the first day of tryouts. Without it, players will unfortunately not be permitted to participate.
We kindly ask that you prepare and bring this requirement with you to avoid any issues on the day of the event.
